Home made popcorn (My favorite snack)

1 cup of popcorn kernels

2 table spoon of coconut oil or olive oil

2 ripped table spoon of nutritional yeast

1 tea spoon of Himalaya salt.

Mix Popcorn kernels, coconut oil in a heated large pot with lead on the high heat. When the kernels started to pop, reduce the heat to a minimum (lead must be on all time until finished). Swing the pot, but careful not to burn yourself. Turn off the stove, put the popcorn in a large bowl, add salt and nutritional yeast.

Bom Apetite!

Snack, breakfast, or dessert. A nice and healthy treat.

Yummy fruit salad: strawberry, green grapes, pear, apple, orange, banana and jack fruit. Jack fruit can be substitute by peaches slices. No added sugar, just fresh orange juice, from 2 oranges.

What is Nutritional Yeast?

Nutritional yeast, is a yeast known as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, that are grown from molasses. The yeast cells are kill during manufacturing, and does have a delicious cheese, nut flavor.

Nutritional Yeast is a good source of fibre, amino acids, proteins, vitamins, specially vitamin B12 (Vitamin B12, is important for the function of the nerve system, healthy red blood cells formation, DNA production and energy metabolism), and some trace minerals, such as zinc, selenium, manganese, molybdenum, as well as the antioxidants glutathione and selenomethionine.

I like to use nutritional yeast sprinkled over popcorn, vegetable stew, pasta, and even when I baked breads, to give it flavor, and of course, increase some nutrients.

This is my own version of a cereal mix. In this cereal mix, you can find golden berries, Goji berries, Cacao nibs, Pepita seeds, Sunflower kernels, brown and golden Linseeds, Almonds, Coconut, Hemp seeds and Rice Bubbles. In this mix, I toasted all the ingredients, (except for the rice bubbles). This cereal mix is high in soluble and insoluble fibers and is a good source of nutrients high in antioxidants and free of any added sugars and salt.

Warning: some individuals may suffer from an allergic reaction due to nuts and seeds.

Why should we exercise?

We should exercise to improve our overall health and well being and to reduce the risk of health diseases such as: heart attack, stroke, obesity etc.

Physical exercise improves your mood, heart rate, breathing capacity an importantly reduces stress, as it increases  endorphin hormones within the brain (the happy hormone).

Exercise can start as a simple walk around the block,  going to a gym and/or can even be done at home.

Gardening and well-being

'What do I do to prevent 'Burnout?' This question has been asked by many of my clients, and it is not simple to answer.

But what I do to prevent burnout?

I garden, I produce crops of fresh fruits and vegetables for my family. I walk with bare feet and use my bare hands to touch and feel Mother Earth. The soil also reduces static shocks from  touching metals, such as door nobs etc.
